PRAYER OF JABEZ: DILATAVERIS TERMINOS

Below is the Prayer of Jabez in a facsimile of the Gutenberg Bible (1455).

In the Gutenberg Bible the Prayer of Jabez is printed under the book titled in Latin:  Paralipomenon I .  The Facsimile was published by Brussel & Brussel, New York, 1968.  There are 4 original copies of the  Gutenberg Bibles preserved in New York: one is at the New York Public Library (incomplete copy) and the second site is in the Morgan Library and Museum in New York (one complete and two incomplete copies).
In common Biblical English editions the reference to the Prayer of Jabez is:
I Chronicles 2:9-10.   Verse 9 starts as the top line right word fuit . The last word of verse 10 ends at line 10 in the middle with the word est .  The photograph below is made from a facsimile owned by me.

The significance of the story is that Jabez attracted - enlarged his real estate holdings (dilataveris terminos) - by prayer only.  
He did not buy it nor pay for it.

THE LAW OF ATTRACTION

The Law of Attraction (LOA) is an involuntary neuro-physiological phenomenon.  It has been known for thousands of years to thoughtful humans who we refer to sometimes as highly intelligent. 

The LOA is the principle that makes a “Bucket List” transform into reality.  Folks who create a bucket list live to see many listed items manifest in their lives. 

The author and world traveler Chris Guillebeau published a blog interview with Kristen Goldberg who at the age of 16 innocently created for herself a bucket list.  She wrote down her bucket list and from that time on to present (now 37 years old mother of two), watched the bucket list manifest in her life.

In her interview Goldberg explains to Guillebeau how the manifestation process works for her:

“I find that, often, once I pick my items for the year, things fall into place to help me accomplish those goals. For example, last year, when I decided to visit Walden, I found a weeklong teacher professional development program that would take me in depth in Walden Woods.

Focusing like this, as opposed to taking a less organized approach, helps me to take advantage of opportunities as they arise. I think there is something to the concept that when you put an intention out there, the stars align a bit to make the task easier.”

Simply stated: this is the LOA working in her life.

THE MANY MEANINGS OF EQUITY

The word equity has many meanings.

It was derived from the Latin root word equitas going into the French and English languages.

Over the centuries the word equity acquired dozens of collateral meanings.   Any meaning depends on the context. 

Equity can simply mean fairness as derived from equality.  Like fairly dividing an inheritance or

Equity means justice.

Equity means ownership in real-estate or business partnership.

Equity means owning shares or stock of a publicly traded corporation.

Equity means  wealth.  Riches.

Equity means - value.  Like, in brand-equity. A product of a company with an awesome or popular brand-name commands higher price for its service or product and bring more revenue than a similar generic product.

A smart phone by Apple – iPhone, commands a higher price than a smart phone by Samsung.  A camera by Sony costs more than a camera made by Fuji.  Gasoline sold by Shell, costs per gallon more than gasoline sold by Admiral gas station.

You start to get the idea -- Equity is a matter of perception.

Valuation of equity is a matter of perception.

Perception creates equity.

The challenge before us is – how to convert an idea, opinion, perception or a benefit into a tangible, material or bankable equity?

The answer is that since perception is all in the mind then it is the mind that has the capacity to convert perception into equity. 

For example: How do you transform communication skills into equity?

Certain outfits charge $1,500 for a public speaking training course of 36 hours.  Another organization provides lifetime of continuous public speaking training for a nominal fee.  Public speaking trainers charge several thousand dollars as a training fee.

Bill Clinton who is a great communicator is said to be paid now $400K for a 50 minutes speech.  Same was true for Ronald Reagan after his retirement.  I am citing these examples only to illustrate that public speaking has the potential – when it comes out from the right mouth to transform itself into bankable dollars.  Or stated otherwise - bankable equity.  

So do written words.  Well-written tomes are copyrighted to ensure the authors ownership and rights of income.

So what is the secret of turning benefits, ideas or perception into equity? 

It is the similar to what we stated elsewhere: Turn Your Thoughts Into Reality!

As Napoleon Hill said:

Think and Grow rich.

And things are equity !
